Corporate Purchasing of Legal Services
Author: Ryon Lancaster
This project, which is a collaborative effort
with the Program on the Legal Profession at Harvard Law
School, examines the
processes by which large corporations, and in particular the general counsel of
these large corporations, go about finding, selecting, and evaluating outside
counsel for a variety of legal work. Using in-depth interviews with
general counsel of Fortune 500 companies, publicly available data, and a survey
of general counsel, this project will provide the first systematic examination
of the structure of purchasing of corporate legal services.
