AJD Data Access
WAVE I
The After the JD Study has collected data of interest to investigators from various disciplines in law and social sciences.
The first wave of data was conducted from 2002 through 2003. The data available for study compile information from questionnaires, web surveys, and phone interviews.
The After the JD data are available in two forms, as public data set and restricted data set. It is of significant importance that the confidentiality of respondents is strictly protected. The available data sets prevent full access to all data sources. Therefore, the distribution of the AJD data is limited in the following ways:
- The Public data include only a subset of recoded variables.
- The Restricted data (more extensive data) are only distributed to certified researchers who commit themselves to maintaining limited access.
- In no case is identifyable information available to any outside researchers.
The rationale for this release structure is to protect the identities of AJD respondents while allowing access to the data to a wide range of researchers.
WAVE II

The second wave of data was conducted from 2007-2008 and is a follow up of wave one.
The public and restricted data of wave 2 will be available to researchers in Summer of 2009.
